In the Details | SEABA Center | Jan 6 – Mar 31, 2017

I’m excited to have four paintings in Carleen Zimbalatti’s “In the Details” at SEABA Center in Burlington, Vermont!

Exhibit Events
Feb 3 Art Walk, 5 – 7 pm
March 3rd Art Walk, 5-7 pm | Artist/Curator Carleen Zimbalatti talks with Art Collector Mark Waskow at 6:30 pm followed by reception

In the Details features the mesmerizing, complex artwork of seventeen artists: David Ambrose, Emily Barletta, Mel Bernstine, Halsey Chait, Cathy Cone, Jonathan Cowan, Denise Driscoll, Lori Ellison, Patricia Fabricant, Jeanne Heifetz, Karen Henderson, Taney Roniger, Jessica Rosner, Gowri Savoor, Lynda Schlosberg, Oriane Stender, and Carleen Zimbalatti. The labor-intensive quality of their work invites the viewer into an inner world that is both tranquil and multidimensional.

This exhibition gives weight to each artist’s meticulous mark-making vocabulary and process. Inch by inch, through skill and craftsmanship, the significance of detail emerges from the iterations and interlacing of small basic elements, creating evocative complex compositions that maintain a balance between the tangible and a seemingly infinite space.

The sum of the parts, a metaphor, a meditative language, deconstructs our stimulating and distracting world, offering transcendence through the quiet strength embodied in each of the artist’s work featured in this exhibition.
